Rural Broadband
Get thee hence, dialup!
High-speed broadband access is now taken for granted by many. But spare a thought for the inhabitants of more remote countryside locations. Sure, they enjoy all the benefits of the rural idyll, but they also deserve 21st century telecomms and for years they have subsisted on dialup internet (help!) or a mixture of radio & satellite broadband.
Well, with luck that is all about to change as Avanti finally bring their HYLAS satellite onstream.
Avanti are presently leasing satellite capacity to deliver their broadband service to, among others, residents of remote west Fermanagh. We’ll know soon if users get the bulletproof internet access that’s been long promised.
