A short film capturing live performances of ‘Wae a heart an a half’ by three County Monaghan primary schools. The play depicts the memories of the narrator—an old soldier of the 36th (Ulster) Division who fought in the First World War.
Rehearsals of ‘Wae a heart an a half’ finally came to fruition a few weeks ago, with performances at each of the three Monaghan primary schools involved. Filming three live plays is challenging, and blending them (it’s not a mashup!) into something meaningful is more challenging still.
Special thanks to Rodney Brownlee for his haunting rendition of ‘Flowers of the Forest’.
